Information on complaints about the abuse of network access

Note: In the course of re-organization of the QSC-Group the following companies were merged into QSC AG: GINKO AG in Aachen, isb GmbH in Bremen and COMpoint GmbH in Vellmar. As a result QSC is now your contact partner with regard to complaints regarding these former companies.

In order that your complaints are forwarded to the right point of contact and can be processed appropriately, please send all information regarding abuse of our network access to abuse@qsc.de. Our employees will then take charge of your information and complaints and will process them appropriately.

On this page you will find information on the topics which can concern abuse@qsc.de. Besides, you are informed how you should phrase an email to abuse@qsc.de, for preventing potential misunderstandings. By reading through this page surely some questions can be clarified beforehand.

Please indicate the exact reason of your complaint. Without exact explanations unfortunately a processing of your mail won´t be possible!

For processing your complaint the following further indications are required:

  • exact date/time
  • IP address of the attacker
  • exact description of the occurrence
  • possibly extracts of the relevant log files
  • on complaints about web sites: exact URL

We only can process complaints in connection with an abuse starting from Q-DSL access or QSC-server. Attacks which result from other access or servers, we can prevent in no case. Please address such complaints to the respective provider. You can determine the right provider under: http://www.ripe.net/perl/whois for Europe, http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html for America, Middle East and parts of Africa, as well as under http://www.apnic.net/ for Asia and the Pacific region.

Defining the individual abuse facts:

  • Anonymous complaints:
If no specific statement about the complaint circumstance is made it is unfortunately not possible for us to go further to your complaint.
  • Port scan:
During port scanning a processor is "scanned" for bugs. We would like to point out, that such a performance so far was not relevant in penal law and thus cannot be prevented by QSC. Moreover, we would like to inform you that there is no risk for your computer by such activities if no applications run on the scanned ports.
  • Spam complaints (sending of unsolicited promotion):
We need the complete header of the message. You can find out about worth knowing topics about the interpretation of headers at: http://www.th-h.de/faq/headrfaq.html.
  • http://www.th-h.de/faq/headrfaq.html.IRC abuse:
On a complaint about an other user on a IRC server we require the who is information for the user, the logs of the incident and a valid time stamp including the indication of the time zone in which you live.
  • Usenet abuse:
We would like to point out that news groups are public forums and you determine yourself which messages you chose. A monitoring of the news groups and the announcement of an improper behaviour is thus complicated. The freedom of opinion and the personal rights of each individual have to be considered. Therefore, QSC will strictly not intervene in discussions and disagreements of individual persons.
  • Illegitimate web contents:
If you suspect that a web site contains an illegitimate content (e.g. child pornography or far-right contents), please indicate the exact information (exact address, etc.) in your complaint. The facts are then being checked through our employees and if necessary forwarded to our legal department.

We hope that we could help you with this information!
